Open Space

After spending nearly every summer of the last five decades on an Idaho lake,
and building daily walks in nature
into my life for years.

I’ve realized how much the natural world has shaped the way I see beauty.

Open space.
Stillness.
Texture.

Light shifting across the water.
The feeling of something calm, grounded, and unforced.

That influence quietly finds its way into all of my work.

I’m drawn to restraint.

To space.

To things that feel considered
rather than overdone.

Nature always reminds me
that the most beautiful things
rarely need to compete
for attention. ‍
